'Woody' Woodpecker
'Woody' Woodpecker

My special 'Woody' who visits me daily in my garden. This painting was a challenge for me. After watching my woodpecker for so many years now I had the idea that I could use recycled tea bags to depict the bird feeder full of nuts. So I took the plunge.

Painting with acrylic on a recycled herbal green tea bag and then tetley tea bags broken up for the feeder. I was so pleased with the end result - I have sold a few 'Woody's' now and more importantly for me is that they have been appreciated fand all gone to loving homes.

This woodpecker brings the whole family. Last year we saw two babies but unfortunately one passed after a large Jay swooped down and literally attacked it. I didn't realise other birds did that. I hope we see another baby this year.
